
Dr. Assane Coulibaly
Dr. Assane Coulibaly is a Doctor of Pharmacy, specialized in Industrial Pharmacy since 1991, he has over thirty years of outstanding experience in the pharmaceutical sector, including ten years as Deputy Director General.
Formerly the owner of a pharmacy, Dr. Coulibaly brings together expertise in both the industrial and distribution spheres.
He made his mark as President of APPCI (Association of Pharmaceutical Producers of Côte d’Ivoire) from 2012 to 2019, reflecting his strong involvement in the local pharmaceutical industry. His commitment extends further, as he also served as Vice President of WAPMA (West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association) from 2012 to 2016, and currently remains a Permanent Member of the Executive Committee of this association under the auspices of ECOWAS.
Recognized for his professional excellence and dedication to promoting Good Pharmaceutical Practices (GPP), Dr. Assane Coulibaly was awarded the French Academic Prize in Pharmacy in 2022, a distinction that honours his exemplary career and significant contribution to the development of the pharmaceutical sector.
As a consultant for various international organizations, he works tirelessly to promote Good Practices throughout the entire pharmaceutical value chain.
As a speaker, Dr. Assane addresses critical topics such as the relentless fight against counterfeit medicines and the crucial importance of regional integration of pharmaceutical policies.
Driven by bold ambitions, his objectives are to strengthen the entire regional pharmaceutical value chain, adopt a unified standard of Good Pharmaceutical Practices in line with international standards, and gradually promote local or regional sourcing of safe, high-quality, available, and accessible medicines for populations.
His expertise, combined with his ambitious vision, positions this leading figure at the heart of the transformation of the regional pharmaceutical sphere, a key driving force for the emergence of a strong and sustainable pharmaceutical industry in West Africa.
